Degree and area of specialization:
DVM (or equivalent); Board certification (or board eligible) in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in the specialty of Oncology; MS and/or PhD desirable.
License/certification:
Eligible to be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Wisconsin.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Prior experience working in both a practice setting and an academic setting specifically in the field of oncology.
Principal duties:
Duties to include, but not be limited to:
1. CLINICAL/TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Up
to 26 weeks of clinical service in Small Animal Internal Medicine/Oncology which includes the
clinical teaching that takes place during this service.
B. Training and supervision of
residents.
C. Didactic and laboratory teaching.
2. RESEARCH RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct
clinically relevant research and publish results of scholarly activities.
3. SERVICE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Involvement in committees at the Department, School, and University
levels along with involvement at the professional committee level.
B. Participation in
continuing education programs for veterinary practitioners in the State of
Wisconsin.
