Degree and area of specialization:

DVM (or equivalent); Board certification (or board eligibility) in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in the specialty of Oncology; MS and/or PhD also highly desirable.

License/certification:

Eligible to be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Wisconsin.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Prior experience working in both a practice setting and an academic setting specifically in the field of oncology.

Principal duties:

Duties include, but not limited to:

1. CLINICAL/TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Up to 20 weeks of clinical service in Small Animal Internal Medicine Oncology which includes the clinical teaching that takes place during this service.
B. Training and supervision of residents.
C. Didactic and laboratory teaching.

2. RESEARCH RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Develop a strong, independent research program that would enhance the Oncology Research Program.
B. Participate in on-going clinical trials of the Oncology Research Program.

3. SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Involvement in committees at the Department, School, and University level along with involvement at the professional committee level.
B. Participation in continuing programs for veterinary practitioners in Wisconsin.
