Degree and area of specialization:
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or closely related field. The department is focusing on expanding to the following areas of concentration: Information, Health, and Energy. Experimental/theoretical research and teaching emphases impacting these themes are needed in areas, including: MEMS and nanotechnologies; computer systems; electronic-biological interfaces and information processing; bioelectronics; optoelectronics; advanced semiconductor devices, in particular, those for high power or high temperature operation; quantum computation/communications; plasma engineering; RF/microwave/THz imaging and antenna and transceiver design; power electronics; electrical energy conversion technologies including electrical machines and electromechanical devices. Applications from individuals having research and teaching interests in interdisciplinary areas of electrical & computer engineering are particularly encouraged.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Candidate for Associate and Full Professor will possess academic credentials to qualify for a tenured faculty appointment at UW-Madison. The department is strongly committed to having a diverse faculty and student body. Principal duties:
Develop and direct a funded research program and a strong record of scholarly publication, demonstrate excellent teaching performance, and contribute to professional and public service. Specifically, teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses; supervise graduate student research; participate in faculty governance and in departmental and university service.
