Principal duties:
The University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a position in the area of
International Trade Policy, open rank, beginning August, 2008. This position is part of the
Chancellor's interdisciplinary cluster initiative in International Public Affairs
(http://www.clusters.wisc.edu/clusters/show/30). The faculty member will join an interdisciplinary
group, but specialize in teaching the economics of trade theory and international trade policy for
the Master's of International Public Affairs program at the Robert M. La Follette School of Public
Affairs. The individual should also have an interest in working on these issues with colleagues in
related fields. As part of the Chancellor's Cluster Hire Initiative in International Public
Affairs, the successful candidate will be expected to develop an innovative, responsive and highly
competitive research program that will promote interdisciplinary research and teaching in this
area. University and professional service as appropriate required. The tenure home for this
position will be in the Robert M. La Follette School of Public Affairs, with joint appointments
possible in other units. Instruction and research leadership and participation in faculty
governance at the department level are expected. University and community service will also be
expected as appropriate.
