Eligible for Wisconsin Medical License if clinically active MD.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Completion of Postdoc training (if Ph.D.) and radiation oncology residency training (if
MD).
Research interests broadly related to the biology of cancer.
Scholarly credentials and
experience as required for tenure appointment in the biological sciences,
UW-Madison.
Principal duties:
Establish and provide leadership to laboratory research programs in cancer biology and/or radiation biology. Obtain extramural funding for research. The candidate should have research interests broadly related to the biology of cancer. Oncology focus areas may include cell signaling, genetics, DNA damage and repair, angiogenesis, cancer therapeutics, cellular and molecular response to cancer therapy, stem cell biology, molecular prognostic markers, cell cycle control, stress response and others. Participate in medical and graduate student teaching and postdoctoral training. Mentor junior faculty. Clinical practice opportunities also exist for candidates with interest and with appropriate background. Provide professional and university service and leadership appropriate to the tenured faculty rank.
