Applicant must be board certified or board eligible in diagnostic radiology. Fellowship training preferred. Appointment at rank other than Assistant Professor (CHS) will require that the candidate meets the criteria for rank as described in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health Guidelines for Promotion or Appointment as Associate Professor (CHS) or Professor (CHS).
Principal duties:
The candidate filling this position will be specifically chosen for his or her expertise and interest in cardiothoracic imaging. Clinical duties will include clinical interpretation of chest radiographs, cardiothoracic cross sectional imaging studies including CT and MR, as well as other cardiothoracic imaging modalities as they evolve. The ideal candidate will explore new applications of 2D/3D imaging as applied to the chest, e.g. cardiac imaging, vascular imaging, virtual bronchoscopy, parenchymal imaging. The candidate filling this position will also perform image guided lung interventions including biopsies, drainages, and ablations. Teaching assignments will focus on cardiothoracic imaging and will include medical student, resident, fellow and other department trainees as appropriate. It is expected that the successful candidate will develop an interdisciplinary research program in Cardiothoracic Imaging in conjunction with collaborators across disciplines at UW Madison. Appointment at the senior level (Associate/Professor on this track ) may include a leadership role.
