Ph.D. in Chemistry or related fields.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Minimum of 2-4 years of postdoctoral experience in a research program that emphasizes natural products chemistry (isolation, structure elucidation, semi-synthetic modification), rational drug design, or the application of chemical tools for drug target identification (chemical biology) are preferred.

Principal duties:

Applicants should be knowledgeable in the general area of drug discovery with specific interests in natural products chemistry (isolation, structure elucidation, semi-synthetic modification), rational drug design, and/or chemical biology. The individual must: 1) establish a high quality, externally funded research program; 2) engage in productive interdisciplinary applications of organic synthesis to drug discovery and development; 3) participate in campus-wide initiatives including Biotechnology, Chemical Biology, Natural Products and/or Structural Biology as well as utilize resources available in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Comprehensive Cancer Center/McArdle Lab, Medical School, Pharmacy and the Waisman Center; and 4) teach in the undergraduate, professional and/or graduate programs. University and community service will also be expected as appropriate.
