Degree and area of specialization:
MD or MD/PhD, completion of U.S. residency program. Completion of fellowship in genetics or
neurology with focus on neurodevelopmental
genetics.
License/certification:
Wisconsin medical licensure, board certification or board eligibility in appropriate field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Completion of residency and appropriate fellowship program(s) with research experience. Academic credentials for tenure rank at UW-Madison for appointment as associate or full professor.
Principal duties:
Approximately 75% time spent in development of an independent research program in
neurodevelopmental genetics.
Approximately 25% time spent in clinical service and teaching
activities that will be more specifically defined based on the candidate's area of interest,
training and expertise.
Departmental, University and professional service appropriate to
the faculty
rank.
Additional Information:
Qualified candidates could be at any rank with interest in human genetics, particularly at the molecular level. Ideal candidates will be interested in the UW's effort to bridge bench science with clinical application in keeping with the UW's recent CTSA (Center for Translational Science Award) and have an active research program that can contribute to this goal.
