Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
A minimum of six years of relevant work experience, preferably in the admissions office of a moderately to highly selective professional school. Experience in graduate management, legal or medical educational environments will be given favor. Willingness to travel extensively.
Principal duties:
ADMISSIONS PROCESS
> Design, develop and manage a process to integrate and manage the
admission process from recruitment to matriculation for multiple career
specializations/centers
> Oversee International student credential and financial
evaluation.
> Train centers and departments on admission review.
> Set goals with
the Assistant and Associate Deans and the Dean for MBA student recruiting.
> Responsible
for the legal oversight of all admissions processes and decisions.
> Coordinate and assist
accounting department with GMAcc IMAcc admissions.
MARKETING AND MBA RECRUITING
>
Register and organize logistics for GMAC World Tour & Forte, and consortium's Orientation Program
(OP).
> Recruit candidates for Wisconsin School of Business full time MBA program.
>
Oversee campus visits and individual interviews for full time MBA candidates.
>
Coordinate and modify (as needed) on-going contact and cultivation methods to ensure a high yield
of admits.
> Travel to various cities for recruiting events.
> Participate in the
Consortium for Graduate Study in Management board and recruiting committees. Attend and
participate in national and regional Consortium events and activities.
> Develop a
marketing plan for the MBA program.
> Oversee the design and development of all MBA
marketing pieces including a major view book and brochures.
> Oversee the design and
content of the MBA marketing and admission web pages.
> Design a strategy to effectively
recruit and enroll graduate candidates from underrepresented populations.
> Particpate,
attend, and coordinate FORTE' events on behalf of the Wisconsin School of Business.
>
Design and deliver effective information sessions to prospective students.
> Conduct
interviews with candidates and evaluate the candidates for admission in the school's full time MBA
program
> Design admissions training materials for front desk and interview and
recruitment training materials for staff and the center directors of the career
specializations.
> Conduct and document interviews for the member schools in the
Consortium for Graduate Study in Management.
FINANCIAL AID
> Manage the merit-based
aid award process.
> Coordinate with departments and centers to choose recipients and to
distribute candidate awards.
> Promote and advocate for funding for merit-based
awards.
> Work with the Wisconsin School of Business dean for financial administration to
establish a budget for yearly merit-based dollars.
> Manage the budget for MBA merit
aid.
PROSPECTIVE STUDENT ADVISING
> Advise students on financial aid options.
>
Counsel students on program options.
> Provide academic and admissions advice as
necessary.
OFFICE STAFF MANAGEMENT
> Supervise and evaluate classified staff.
>
Supervise and evaluate student hourly and project assistants.
> Coordinate work
assignments for student workers, both undergraduate and graduate, TAs and
PAs.
