Degree and area of specialization:
DVM (or equivalent) required; PhD degree highly desired.
License/certification:
Board certification (or eligible) in the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (clinical pathology) highly desired. Licensed or eligible for licensure in Wisconsin.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral research experience or a PhD Degree to be considered at assistant professor level.
Principal duties:
Participate in the School of Veterinary Medicine's teaching, research and service programs in
clinical pathology. Specifically the candidate is expected to give lectures in the veterinary
clinical pathology course to second year veterinary medical students and participate in elective
courses.
Conduct independent extramurally funded research projects; train graduate students
and residents (clinical pathology and anatomic pathology).
The approximate distribution of
effort will be 25% instruction, 20% clinical service, 50% research, and 5% academic
service.
Additional Information:
May also be offered on a 12-month appointment ($90,000 annual minimum).
