PhD or MD/PhD or equivalent degree(s).
License/certification:
If clinically active MD, must be Board eligible or Board certified and eligible for Wisconsin Medical License.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Appropriate postdoctoral experience and publications. Credentials for faculty rank as appropriate. Candidates for associate professor or professor rank must meet criteria for a tenured faculty appointment at UW-Madison.
Principal duties:
Establish independent research program in neuroplasticity with special emphasis on
neuropharmacology and obtain extramural funding for research program. Participate in teaching
activities at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Participate in department, university,
community and professional activities appropriate to the faculty rank.
The successful
candidate will join a community of neuroscience researchers who are involved in basic, clinical and
translational research. Potential departmental affiliations include Pharmacology, Anatomy,
Genetics, Neurology, Pathology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry and a number of others.
If the
successful candidate has a clinical role, Wisconsin Caregiver Law requires a background
check.
