Principal duties:
- Aid in formulation of architecture, technical and strategic direction, and development of
database-centric, web-based clinical research systems. This includes, but is not limited to:
development in support of project completion, formulating and implementing database design,
assisting with migration of clinical trial databases from SQL Server to Oracle, optimize coding and
documentation standards, maintaining code versioning systems and software release cycle, mentoring
junior development staff.
- Database Administration: Table and SQL tuning for query
performance, database object design, migration strategy and implementation, data replication to
staging and development systems, maintenance of development databases.
- Work with management
and users to refine application requirements, and defining best practices for coding and software
architectural design. Provide support in the translation of user requirements into programming
specifications. Participate in and document peer reviews.
- Monitor and stay current
with industry information systems and technology
trends.
