Ph.D. in a field of/or related to Retailing/Merchandising, Consumer Behavior or related area.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Post graduate industry experience is desirable.
Principal duties:
DESCRIPTION OF VACANT POSITION: This is a 9-month faculty appointment in the Department of
Consumer Science, School of Human Ecology, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Provide
leadership for the retailing program and the Center for Retailing Studies. Teach in the retailing
program that currently includes courses in the following areas: retailing theory and practice,
retail promotion, international retailing, retail technology and/or consumer behavior. Teach
graduate level courses in the consumer behavior/retailing area. Advise and direct undergraduate
and graduate students. Seek external funding and conduct and publish scholarly research in the
consumer behavior/retailing area. Develop university-industry relations, including industry
support for the retailing internship program and for the Center for Retailing Studies. Serve on
departmental, school, and university committees, and perform univerity and community service as
appropriate.
