Reviewing and Interviewing Applicants

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

Hiring authorities and search committees developing or using employment interview questions may not be aware that asking some interview questions may be offensive to applicants or may be discriminatory and, therefore, illegal. Questions asked during an employment interview should be asked to elicit information about the applicant’s ability to perform the job.

Questions concerning these guidelines or specific interview questions should be directed to the Office for Equity and Diversity, Room 179A Bascom Hall, 263-2378.
