LTE (Limited Term Employment)

1. LTE Applicant

To add an applicant, if the SSN is known, enter it in Soc Sec # and press Add Selected Applicant: Known SSN. If the applicant's SSN is not known, press Add Selected Applicant: Unknown SSN. Soc Sec # is not enterable after an applicant is entered.Changes should be made via the Change, Modify, Delete Selected Applicant button. See details below.

Title - Title that is being offered for the LTE applicant..

Sched-Range - Schedule and range for the Classification level used in the LTE Transaction.

LTE Max Rate - The maximum rate that can be paid to the LTE position without needing to fill out the Over LTE Maximum justification.

Soc Sec # - The Social Security Number of the Applicant chosen to fill the LTE position. To add an applicant enter an SSN and press Add Selected Applicant: Known SSN. This field is not enterable after an applicant is entered. Changes should be made via the Change, Modify, Delete Selected Applicant button.

Add Selected Applicant: Known SSN - If an applicant's SSN is known and entered in the previous field, press to enter the person as the selected applicant for the LTE Transaction. If data is found for the SSN on the IADS/Person file or CHRIS, that data will automatically be filled in. Once an applicant is entered, the label for this button is changed to: Change, Modify, Delete Selected Applicant.

Change, Modify, Delete Selected Applicant - Press to change the applicant who is selected for the position, modify data for the person currently selected, or to delete the person who is currently selected. This button is not available with this label until after an applicant has been added.

Add Selected Applicant: Unknown SSN - Press to enter an applicant onto the LTE Transaction that the SSN is not yet known (the SSN will need to be entered at a later time once it is known). This button is not available once an applicant is entered.

Last Name - Last name of the LTE Applicant.

First Name - First name of the LTE Applicant.

Middle Initial - Middle name of the LTE Applicant.

Address - Address of the LTE Applicant.

City - City that the LTE Applicant resides.

State - State that the LTE Applicant resides.

Zip Code - Zip code for the place of residence.

Country - Country taht the LTE Applicant resides (defaults to U.S.A.).

Home Phone - Home Phone number of the Applicant.

Email - Email Address of the applicant, if applicable..

Birth Date - Birth date of the Applicant.

Seniority Date - The date that the applicant gained seniority status with the university.

Gender - Gender of the Applicant (Male, Female, Unknown).

Hourly Rate - Hourly rate that the applicant will be paid for duties performed in the LTE position.

Work Phone - The perspective work phone the applicant will have if hired.

LTE Begin Date - Date that the LTE position is to begin.

Above LTE Maximum - Indicator if the LTE will be hired above the maximum rate.

Above LTE Maximum Justification - Justification for why the employee is to be hired over the LTE maximum.

Out of State - Indicator of wether the applicant lives out of state.

Out of State Justification - The justification for hiring an applicant from out of the state.

Overload - Indicates if the current position will be an overlaod position for the employee.

Employment Overload Form - Press the button to go to the Employee Overload form.

LTE Comments - Enter any special comments about the LTE position, such as why an out of state applicant can be hired for the position.

2. LTE Appt History

Information must be entered for the most recent UW or other state position, past or current, held by the applicant or for the permanent classified position that will help jusify the applicant above the minimum. Press Select from the Applicant's UW Appointments to display U.W. appointments; when one of those appointments is selected, data for that appointment will fill in automatically on this history screen. Data for non-U.W. appointments can be entered manually.

Select from the Applicant's UW Appointments - Press to display any prior U.W. appointments for the selected person (SSN must be entered on the LTE Applicant screen).

UW Appt ID - Appointment ID for the position the employee is or was in.

HR Tran ID - The HR Transaction ID for the position the employee is or was in.

Display Historical HR Tran - Press to display the HR Transaction if an HR Tran ID exists.

Concurrent Appt - Indicates whether the displayed appointment for the employee will be concurrent with the new LTE position.

Title - Titile Code for the position the employee is or was in.

Appt Type - Appointment Type for the position the employee is or was in.

Appointment Org - The U.W. department or other state agency for the position the employee is or was in.

End Date - The End Date of the position the employee is or was in.

Hourly Rate - The Hourly rate that the applicant was previuosly paid.

Supervisor Last Name - The Last Name of the Applicants previous supervisor.

Supervisor First Name - The Firstst Name of the Applicants previous supervisor.

Building Code - The Building code of the applicants previous address.

Freeform Address - If the building code is unknown, please enter the freeform address of the applicants previous address.

Prior Appt Job Summary - Enter tha job summary of the applicants previous appointment.

Delete Appointment History Data - Press the button to delete all of the entered appointment history data.

Compare Historical and New Job Summaries - Press to compare the applicants previous job summary to the current job summary. (If the previous job was entered onto the CHRIS/CHRIS-HR system, the job summary will be used from the previous HR Transaction).

3. Change, Modify, Delete Selected Applicant

Modify Data (except SSN) for the Current Selected Applicant - Makes the Selected applicants fields updateable except for the SSN. NOTE: DO NOT insert a new applicant using this process as it will change all the information associated with the listed SSN.

Add or Correct SSN for the Current Select Applicant - Changes or inserts the applicants SSN to what was provided in the field. This is not available if the current SSN is tied to an IADS Person ID. In this case, the current applicant must first be deleted; then the new SSN can be entered. This is to prevent an SSN from getting out of synch with its actual Person ID.

If an SSN is allowed to be entered and different data is found on IADS and the Person File, you will be prompted to accept the IADS/Person File data or to leave the applicant data already entered.

Delete the Current Selected Applicant - Removes the current selected applicant from the LTE Transaction.

Change the Selected Applicant - Known SSN - Changes the selected applicnat from what was previously entered, if any, to the applicant with the SSN entered in the field provided. Any known information will be extracted and listed where available.

Change the Selected Applicant - Unknown SSN - Allows for entry of an applicant if the SSN is currently unknown. Will have to return and enter the SSN when it is known.

Cancel - Close the 'Modify LTE Selected Applicant' screen.

4. LTE Actions

Note: LTE Approval - If the LTE Applicant is entered after the Transaction is originally submitted, the applicant has to be submitted separately and go through a separate approval process using the options below. Please see Special Instructions for LTE Positions.

Latest LTE Transaction Event/Status - Shows the current status that the LTE Transaction is in and the event that put the transaction in that status.

Latest LTE Applicanct Event/Status - Shows the current status that the selected Applicant is in and the event that put the Applicant in that status.

Approve LTE Trans and Applicant - Press to approve the LTE Transaction along with the selected applicant.

Reject LTE Trans and Applicant - Press to reject the LTE transaction along with the selected applicant.

Approve LTE Trans Only - Press to approve the LTE transaction, but not the selected applicant, if any.

Reject LTE Trans Only - Press to reject the LTE transaction, but not the selected applicant, if any.

Approve LTE Applicant Only - Press to approve the selected applicant.

Reject LTE Applicant Only - Press to reject the selected applicant.

Approve LTE But Reject Applicant - Press to Approve the LTE transaction, but reject the selected applicant.
