Attend the New Scholars Conference on sustainable Transportation in Bloomington, IN. as an opportunity to interact with transportation researchers focused on sustainability and share my current work in the area of ethics and social responsibility in transportation.  This experience will assist the development of a new colloquium course at UW-Madison.

The "AFNI Boot camp" will introduce functional MRI data analysis and visualization with the NIH Analysis of functional Neuroimaging Workshop software package.  The class will be conducted in the Waisman Laboratory for Brain Imaging and Behavior and will provide hands-one software training for approximately 25 staff members that use our MRI scanner facility  Two NIH staff members will come to campus for 3 days and staff from various departments will be able to take advantage of this opportunity.

Attend the National Coalition for Campus Child Care Centers (NCCCC) Annual conference in Denver, Colorado.  I will present abut the family support programs that have been developed here at UW.  It will enable me to meet with the US Department of Education representatives that provide current funding (2005-2009) for the Child Care AIM Program here at UW-Madison.

As a Tech. Comm. Instructor, I would like to add depth to my teaching of global engineering issues in ethics and communications.  In conjunction with the Study Abroad program in Toulouse, France, I propose to tour engineering corporations and research development European innovations to find out more about global engineering communication challenges.  I plan to conduct research and interviews concerning European Systems for regulating ethical engineering practices.

Attend the 2006 ACPA Annual Convention.  Submitted a presentation entitled: "A Culturally Sensitive Career Counseling Group Intervention for Multicultural Students."  The purpose of this presentation will be to help participants learn how to develop a culturally sensitive group career counseling intervention that better serves the needs of racial and ethnically diverse (R/RED) students.

Dr. Nadya Fouad will provide two hours of a half-day workshop to the staff of C&CS, which will focus on applying multicultural principles to practice.  Dr. Fouad will address situating client concerns within their cultural context, as well as using culturally sensitive assessment and intervention tools.  She will sue case vignettes to enhance discussion and assist the staff in strengthening their ability to work with diverse populations in a therapeutic context.

Attend the 2006 Art Museum Membership Managers Conference in Fort Worth, TX.  The conference offers very specialized training in recruiting, retaining, and increasing museum membership, in addition to professional networking opportunities and mentoring. Sessions cover topics such as direct mail and telemarketing for renewal and acquisitions, membership benefits, acknowledgments, upgrade campaigns, membership travel programs and the very specialized Raisers Edge fundraising software.

The two component, combined project management course focuses on training in the areas of project design, budgeting, establishing and maintaining a time table for projects as well as team leadership, maximizing productivity and eliminating/minimizing team conflict.  The program will develop skills critical for the function of the laboratory and enhance the lab's potential to compete for extra mural funding.  This will result in both short and long term benefits to the participant, department and the UW.

Participate in NCORE.  This conference is the leading and most comprehensive national forum on issues of race and ethnicity in higher education.  It's devoted to assisting higher education institutions in creating inclusive higher education environments, programs, and curriculum.  Attending this conference would enable me to re-energize and gain additional knowledge to share with SHADE (student organization) and our Recruitment and Retention Committee to incorporate in our short and long term planning.
