Amber Ault, Sociology, attend National Conference on Race and Ethnicity that will assist me in gaining insight into issues related to the academic success of students of color on predominately white campuses.

Douglas Austin, Medical Photography, attend hands on workshop, receive training in advance photo shop techniques, which will enable me to stay current in imaging software, and improve my effectiveness in department/clients.

L. Stuart Baker, Plant Pathology, obtain instruction and practical experience with Linux Network system administration for the purpose of expanding and enhancing Web, Email, and file sharing services to our interdepartments LAN.

Samuel Barasch, Biostatistics, attend class at New Horizons on Designing a Secure MS Win 2000 Network.

Jay Campbell, Molecular Biology, attend the Microscopy and Microanalysis 2001 Meeting in order to keep current with the latest electron microscopy techniques and participate in hands-on specimen preparation, cryo-fixation and immuno-gold labeling

Michelle Chizek, Ophthalmology & Visual Science, attend meeting of the Association for Surgical Education that will give me the opportunity to learn new teaching and evaluation methods.

Maury Cotter, Office of Quality Improvement, attend and present at NCCI conference, which will provide opportunities to learn and adapt what peer institutions are doing to improve quality services.

Heather Daniels, Neuroscience Training Program, attend the Association of Neuroscience Meeting to meet colleagues and learn new ideas in neuroscience training.

Viktoria Danilova, Animal Health & Biomedical Sciences, attend Gordon Research Conference on Chemical Senses:Taste and Smell to participate in discussions and present poster, to meet and interact with researchers and working on the research of taste physiology.

Tim Dougdale and Alice Anderson, Learning Technology & Distance Learning, bring in a trainer to teach other trainers web accessibility.

Lynn Edlefson, Campus Child Care, attend the National Coalition of Campus Children’s Centers with the intent of developing relationships with other university child care colleagues, gathering program and funding information and seeking “best practice” guidelines in program, and policy.

Mary Ann Fitzgerald, School of Human Ecology, travel to China to attend a two-week program on the material culture of the ethnic minorities of Yunnan.

Julie Franz, Medical Microbiology & Immunology, attend ICAAC conference to obtain updated information to be used to improve the medical school course on Infection and Immunity.

Rosa Garner and Kathleen Holt, Medical School/Employee Assistance, obtain training offered by the National Training Lab entitled Appreciative Inquiry:  A Constructive Approach to Organization Development.

Jeffrey Gehrke and Jennifer Franchak, Business School, attend the NACADA national conference to learn how to improve advising services in the School of Business and to better meet the advising needs of underrepresented students.

Michael Gruber, Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, attend the SER conference to present a poster of current studies and have an opportunity to discuss current/future studies with colleagues.

Jeffrey Henriques, School of Nursing, attend a SPSS training workshop on Advanced Regression Techniques that will increase know of this major statistical package, used in the School of Nursing.

Ann Kinkade, Family Business Center, attend FBN conference, which will increase the interdisciplinary skills and knowledge of family business advisors, educators, researchers and consultants.

Song-Charng Kong, Engine Research Center, obtain training for using the chemical kinetics software package-CHEMKIN, which will improve effectiveness of my job and serve as a resource to use the code effectively.

Steven Krauth, Entomology, attend and participate in the 3rd International Symposium on the Biology of Gall-Inducing Arthropods in Stellenbosch, South Africa which will contribute to the development of taxonomic skills in my specialty.

Charlene Krembs, Administrative Computing, continue training and expertise in Novell NetWare 5 administration.

Louise Latterell, Family Medicine, attend the ALSO Instructor and Family-Center MATERNITY Care courses to gain advanced skills in the management of obstetrical patients.

Katherine Loving, University Health Services, attend the 2002 Institute on College Student Values to interact with college and university educators from across the country to share research and education strategies related to ethical issues in student learning and development.

David McDougal, Medical Illustration, attend Linux and Unix classes offered by DOIT to develop a better understanding of the newest technology in software.

Ed Mirecki, Dean of Student/Student Organizations, attend the American College Personnel Association Nation Conference to broaden knowledge and obtain an understanding of a variety of student services issues.

Kevin Niemi, Center for Biology Education, attend the National Science Teachers Association conference where I will be able to interact with colleagues to enhance my science education skills.

Philip Oshel, Animal Sciences, attend Microscopy Society of America meeting that will help keep me current with new techniques and instrumentation in microscopy, which is needed for the best operation of our microscopy facility.

Barbara Walden, Collection Development & Preservation, attend the University of New Brunswick, which provides up-to-date information on using and applying the new developments in text encoding and E-book production for electronic text projects.

Cynthia White, Institute for Research on Poverty, attend training session Advanced Programming Techniques in SAS and a conference for SAS language users in order to upgrade skills as a programmer and be more efficient in extracting data for projects.

Thomas Wright, Agricultural Research Station, attend and participate in the American Society of Agronomy Crop Science of America and the Soil Science Society of America that will allow me to meet and interact with researchers from around the country and enhance knowledge of Agronomic Research.

William Zimmerman, Division of Information Technology, take a Microsoft Certification Systems Engineer course to gain more knowledge for teaching Student Technical Training.
