Renee Alfano and Yvonne Fangmeyer, Dean of Students Office, attend National Conference on Race and ethnicity that will broaden knowledge and understanding of race and ethnicity issues as well as learn about a variety of diversity educational approaches and effective training techniques.

L. Stuart Baker, Entomology/Plant Pathology, take course covering specific aspects in the installation, management and support of Novel Netware version 5.0 that will help me maintain and enhance ability to provide effective computer network expertise.

Andrea Ball and Tammy Mays, Health Sciences Libraries, attend meeting of the Medical Library Association that will provide professional workshop/conference opportunities.

Philip Biebl, Engineering Communications, attend the DGEF workshops that will increase productivity, update knowledge and expand capabilities and creativity.

Dianne Bowcock, Lead Center, take course related to data analysis and report writing that will expand my database skills.

Joan Burns and Catherine Reiser, Medical Genetics, bring in two experts to present professional development seminar that will improve the effectiveness of genetics counseling academic staff in their supervision and research activities.

John Carpenter, Network Engineering, participate in the Cisco Network Support training designed for professionals working with Cisco-based networks that include LAN and WAN routers/switches.

Jan Cheetham and Lillian Tong, Center Biology Education, attend the American Association for Higher Education Assessment Conference 2000 that will add to their expertise in assessment of teaching/learning/programs and allow them to be more effective in faculty development programs.

Karen Delahut, Horticulture, take course to be able to do more of my own desktop publishing.

Lynn Edlefson, Child Care, attend the national conference with the intent of gathering program and funding information and seeking "best practice" guidelines in program, policy and funding options.

Jackie Hank, Human Ecology, attend the Keystone Symposia on Cellular Immunity and Immunotherapy, which is an ideal opportunity to interact with colleagues and conference attendees.

Carol Hillmer, Dairy Science, attend intensive training on "Fundamentals of Sponsored Project Administration" which will expand knowledge in the area of sponsored project administration.

Lynette Karls, Nutritional Sciences, complete training in workshop on database management.

Dennis Kennedy, Lead Center, obtain training in order to enhance abilities in the area of administering sponsored research programs and improve skills in using presentation software.

Dana Staunton King, Surgical Sciences, participate in an Advanced Equine Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course that would enhance my ability to diagnose musculoskeletal injuries in patients and to teach students and residents about equine musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Charlene Krembs, Administrative Computing, expand training and expertise in Novell NetWare 5 administration.

Janet Lewis, Comprehensive Cancer Center, attend web development course that will help me create our own web site so users can obtain information about our services, transfer data, check instrument and facility schedules.

Heidi Papenfus, Medicine, attend the Module 1 session to gain additional training in clinical trials concepts.

Tracy Perkins, Ophthalmology, attend the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology that provides a forum for the exchange of scientific information.

Ileana Rodrigues, Adult Career and Educational Counseling, attend the National conference on Race & Ethnicity in American Higher Education and gain insights and experiences that will contribute and have an impact on future workshops that focus on fostering diversity.

Erica Rosch, Letters & Science Learning Support Services, attend conference on "Teaching and Learning with Web and Distance Learning Technologies" that will help me stay up-to-date in my field.

Meredith Ross, bring a forensic social worker to UW-Msn to provide training for 21 clinical faculty members in the areas of client-centered representation and working effectively with clients from diverse cultural, economic, and social backgrounds.

Scott Rozman, Instructional Media Development Center, attend Advanced Authorware Training session that will give me the skills needed to create highly sophisticated educational multimedia software.

Amy Sausen, Horticulture, take course in Desktop Publishing for professional development and personal enrichment.

Wendy Schmidt-Janosik, University Health Services, attend conference which is designed to provide a forum for women and men across the country to discuss how we can better support women as teachers, workers, learners, and creators of knowledge by various methods.

Janice Sheppard, Dean of Students Office, attend four days of training in database application development in order to refine databases.

Barb Smith, Instructional Media Development Center, participate in a two-day training session focusing on the features of Dreamweaver software that will enable me to manage and develop faculty and departmental websites.

Rusty Smith, Networking Engineering, participate in training through The Internetworking Education Co. which will provide me with the fundamental and practical knowledge to install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco assess and ISDN dialup services.

Susan Stratton, School of Business, attend NARUC meeting that will assist in facilitating the work of regulatory staff and keeping staff up-to-date on current information.

Jean Surfus, Human Oncology, attend the meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research that will give me the opportunity to examine new equipment and products that could benefit our laboratory.

Hazel Symonette, Academic Services, bring in experts to conduct two, two-day workshops to enhance the knowledge, skills, and proactive orientations for creating a more inclusive, respectful and responsive campus environment.

Char Tortorice and Mary Beth Plane, Mentoring Program, attend the annual conference of the International Mentoring Association that will enhance insight into other mentoring programs.

Adrian Treves, Zoology, undertake a two-part training schedule to learn basic and applied aspects of hormonal physiology and the endocrine regulation of behavior with the goal of being qualified to teach the most advanced theory and techniques in endocrine physiology.

M. J. Wylie, Animal Sciences, participate in the "Travel Down Under with Kentucky Equine Research" tour which will refresh and update my horse nutrition knowledge.
