| Job Summary: |
This position performs journeyman Carpenter worker duties under the supervision
of the Building Trades Supervisor for the Plant Engineering Building Carpenter
Shop, in the Clnical Science Center and UW Health. The Plant Engineering Department is committed to the highest standard of Customer Relations principles. Staff will serve as role models by practicing exemplary behavior when working with patients, visitors and fellow staff members. Hospital environment requires quicker than normal response to system and equipment failures. The hours worked often require emergency response, frequently without immediate direct assistance from leadworker or supervisor. Percentages of time spent on listed duties will vary. Perform work within the CSC and associated remote clinics and buildings. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical and carpenter drawings and schematics; these to include layout of materials needed and fabrication. Maintain records as requires. This position requires the physical and mental abilities to perform all aspects of a carpenter worker. This position also requires the ability to stoop, bend, climb a ladder, kneel and lift. This position must be able to be authorized to drive Plant Engineering fleet vehicles. Technical Skill: Incumbent performs his/her job demonstrating technical ability, understanding of job expectations and compliance with organizational policies and procedures. | |

1. Possession of a valid driver's license, and ability to possess a valid
Wisconsin driver's license within six months of being hired for the
position. 2. Ability to be insured by Hospital's risk management insurer which requires (1) a valid Wisconsin driver's license OR the ability to provide a notarized document describing the incumbent's driving record, and (2) successfully passing a driving background check. 3. Ability to operate a truck or passenger vehicle efficiently and safely. | |
