| Job Summary: |
This position works with the Network for the Improvement of Addiction Treatment
(NIATx) National Program Office (NPO) within the Center for Health Enhancement
System Studies (CHESS). NIATx and the NPO are under the direction of Dr. David
Gustafson. This position will work with the $8 million NIDA grant that began two years ago. The design of the program is to implement payer and provider strategies that improve the adoption of process improvement changes designed to improve client access to and retention in treatment. Over a 5-year period, the NIATx NPO will conduct a randomized trial to test the effectiveness and cost of four combinations of collaborative services for making and spreading organizational process improvements. We are currently in year 3 of this grant. The research study has two specific aims: 1) Test the premise that a state-based strategy receiving NIATx support can lead mainstream treatment agencies to implement and sustain process improvements that will produce widespread reduction in time to treatment from first contact and no-show rates to first treatment and improved rates of admissions to and continuation in treatment; and 2) Evaluate the effectiveness and cost of four combinations of the following collaborative services: website, interest circles, coach calls, coach visits and learning sessions. The person chosen for this position will report to the NIDA Program Manager and will provide program support and data management for the NIDA grant. Incumbent will act as the primary administrative support for activities such as: procure space and/or coordinate teleconferences for variety of NIDA meetings; manage and coordinate schedules; answer telephone requests; and work with student assistants on assigned tasks. The incumbent will also work with the NIDA team to manage data collection and tracking systems. They will also work closely with state and provider partners to ensure timely and complete submission of study outcomes as well as maintain records of study data (both paper and electronic). | |
