Job Summary:   University health Services, the student health center of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, seeks a Senior Information Systems Development Services Specialist to assist the Information Technology team in performing a wide range of tasks and activities in the support of all phases of the System Development Life Cycle, including, but not limited to, working with the Communications Team to build a new organization website.

This is a three-year position, working under general supervision of the Information Technology Manager. The person in this position independently performs programming and systems analysis and design tasks in support of information processing applications on a variety of platforms (e.g., UNIX, Windows) and assists in the support of automated production systems.

Specific responsiblities include the development and support of a variety of web-based database applications. These applications range from small single-purpose systems to large complex systems that are integrated/interfaced with enterprise-wide business systems. Additional responsbilities relate to the administration of the systems that are employed in the deployement of these applications.

This position performs a combination of analysis and coding duties of great complexity and on a variety of platforms. This senior-level postiion requires mastery of the techniques in coding, analysis, software implementation, troubleshooting existing systems currently in production, and testing and debugging new systems. This position will primarily program code, and modify, analyze, and review coding; for both the development of web-based systems and existing third-party applications in a team environment. The ability to work independently and also in close correlation with a small IT department is essential.

Web-based graphic design experience preferred but not required.

All finalists will be asked to provide examples of website they have built and/or designed.

The Information Technology team assist UHS staff in accomplishing the orgnaization's mission through electronic-based solutions and services.

Special note: University Health Services is the student health service of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and, as such, operates as an ambulatory health care facility accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Staff of UHS are expected to understand that patient care and information about patient care require a high degree of privacy, security, and confidentiality. An employee in this position will necessarily come in contact with highly sensitive information. Misuse or abuse of this information is considered grounds for disciplinary action, including termination.
