The Department of Engineering Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks applications for up to 2 tenured/tenure track faculty positions in the area of nuclear engineering, science, & technology, including but not limited to nuclear materials, nuclear safety, reactor physics, nuclear detection, thermal-fluids, nuclear fuel cycles, fusion technology, and other related areas.
Candidates must demonstrate an established state-of-the art research program, or the potential to establish such a program, that complements the existing strengths in the Department of Engineering Physics.
Candidates for a tenured position (associate or full professor) must have an outstanding scientific background and excellent academic credentials consistent with a tenured faculty appointment at UW-Madison.
Well qualified candidates will have demonstrated high quality research with publications in top journals, a promising vision for research in nuclear engineering, science, or technology, experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment, and evidence of and commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
The applicant must be highly motivated and independent.
In addition to a high degree of technical proficiency, this position also requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
Principal duties:
*Develop and maintain outstanding scholarly programs and activities, including research and teaching, appropriate to the faculty rank.

*Produce original research and scholarly publications.

*Foster the education and professional development of undergraduate and graduate students.

*Proactively support the expansion of diversity among all components of the department, and ensure an inclusive, fair, and equitable environment that fosters engagement.

*Provide service to the department, college, university, and academic community nationally or internationally.

  Additional Information:
 The Department is a globally recognized leader in higher education with enrollment of over 200 undergraduate students and over 100 MS and PhD graduate students. Degree programs include Engineering Physics, Nuclear Engineering, and Engineering Mechanics & Astronautics. The Department is also ranked nationally for research activity in excess of $20M annually. The Department has 21 faculty, and over 50 scientists and research staff.
