Candidate for Associate and Full Professor will possess academic credentials to qualify for a tenured faculty appointment at UW-Madison. The department is strongly committed to having a diverse faculty and student body. Under-represented candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applications are solicited in the broad areas of 1) signal processing, information theory, and optimization in large-scale systems and networks, or 2) solid-state electronic/optoelectronic/photonic devices and systems.
Candidates who integrate or bridge the two areas and address applications in energy, medicine and health care, biology, communications, and transportations (e.g. cyber physical systems and smart energy grids) are especially encouraged.

Applicants should provide a curriculum vitae (including a complete list of publications), research and teaching statements, and contact information of at least three references. The applicants are encouraged to describe in their statements how their research and teaching goals fit the solicitation described above.
Principal duties:
Teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses; supervising graduate student research; developing and directing a strong, funded research program; participating in departmental and university faculty governance; and contributing to professional and public service.
