Degree and area of specialization:
Minimum MS in Nursing with specialization in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner role.
DNP or PhD degree preferred
 Active RN Licensure (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Wisconsin; professional certification as an acute care nurse practitioner.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Two years clinical experience as acute care nurse practitioner.
Teaching experience preferred.
Principal duties:
Course instruction and/or clinical supervision of graduate students in the Adult/Gero Acute Care NP option of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.

Responsible for classroom co-teaching in the foundations sequence for advanced practice nursing and/or supervision of clinical practicum students. The Foundations of Advanced Practice Nursing I and II are designed to advance students' knowledge for clinical decision-making. Health promotion, disease and illness prevention, common health conditions as well as complex and chronic health conditions are emphasized. Advanced Practice Clinical Application and Role Development I and II involves the supervision of a clinical practicum that focusses on the development of advanced health promotion, assessment and clinical management skills in a variety of health care settings. Engage in non-teaching activities aimed at accomplishing the missions of the UW Madison School of Nursing.

 This PVL may be for (2) 25% positions or (1) combined 56% position. Candidates may apply to teach both courses a semester (56% appointment) or one course a semester (25%).
