Principal duties:
The successful candidate will join a clinical radiology service that currently includes, in addition to the position described here, 1 tenured faculty, 1 instructor (targeted to move to clinical track faculty after completion of boards), and an additional tenure track faculty member to join the section in the near future. These two sections cover both diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will take a lead role in the radiology/diagnostic imaging focus of this section. The section currently has 5 trainees (residents or fellows) with 2 focused in radiation oncology. The diagnostic imaging section has recently installed an 8 slice CT scanner. A tenure track candidate will establish an independent extramurally funded and productive research program. Remaining responsibilities will include didactic, laboratory and clinical teaching of veterinary medical students, participation in patient care through diagnostic imaging using a variety of modalities including radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, radionuclide imaging, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging in the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, supervision of residents and continuing education of veterinarians. Approximately 20% in Clinical Practice (including 10-26 weeks of clinic duty) and Teaching 30% (15-20 lectures/year and 20-30 hours of laboratory/year) 45% in Research, and 5% in Service. The exact distribution of time will vary with the level of appointment and associated duties.
