Evidence of the ability to develop a research program in adult teaching and learning and the arts and humanities. Evidence of knowledge and demonstrated excellence in teaching adults. At least 3 years working as a practitioner in one's discipline
Candidates for associate professor or full professor rank must meet criteria for appointment with tenure per university guidelines.

Principal duties:
We seek a tenure track or tenured faculty who will provide leadership in research and teaching in the area of lifelong learning/continuing education in the arts and humanities.
The ideal candidate will: 1. Develop and teach non-credit continuing education personal enrichment courses in the arts and humanities. 2. Conduct nationally/internationally-recognized research, including grant-funded research, related to lifelong learning/continuing education in the arts and humanities. 3. Develop programs and courses that reflect best practices in in adult teaching and learning in the arts and humanities for lifelong learners. 4. Build relationships and collaborate with peers in other academic departments and the public and private sectors. 5. Participate in faculty governance and other university, division, and department service activities. 6. Contribute to the profession at the local, state, and national levels.

Continuing Studies is a revenue generating unit; programs and courses are expected to contribute to the financial sustainability of the department. |
