Title Specifications

Job Summary:The work of the University Services Program Associate in the Department of Liberal Studies and Professional Development involves a network of administrative operations requiring independent judgment and decision-making skills. The incumbent works independently under the general supervision of the Program Assistant Supervisor and the general direction of department faculty and academic staff in the assigned program areas. Due to the nature of their work, program coordinators are out of the office a significant portion of time, so this position is responsible for many decisions involved in daily programming operations and has delegated authority to speak/act on behalf of faculty and academic staff program coordinators.

This position operates with a large degree of autonomy. The incumbent develops their own work sequences and methods to meet the requirements of the programming function within departmental policies. This position has the responsibility for contributing to the efficient operation of the department, and providing an atmosphere conducive to continuing education. This position requires a broad range of skills: computer skills, excellent interpersonal communication, organizational, time management and project management skills. In addition to handling multiple projects simultaneously, the ability to work with financial data is a requirement.

This position provides valuable administrative and program support for numerous adult continuing education programs in the subject matter of Community Health and Adult Education.
