Title Specifications

Job Summary:Under the general supervision of the Program Director, act as conference coordinator for a variety of events offered by the Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System and Southern Child Welfare Training Partnership programs of the School of Human Ecology. These organizations offer professional development training and events statewide and also host meetings throughout the year for our State and County partners as well as the School of Human Ecology and other UW groups.

This position is responsible for handling all phases of event and meeting planning and management including budgeting, site arrangements, marketing, travel arrangements, course material coordination, contact with non-University constituencies, verification of continuing education hours, and event finances. The position includes responsibility for delegation to and supervision of office staff in relation to event activities and includes oversight of all event accounts. Additional responsibilities include backup to the office manager as needed including supervision of student staff and interpretation and administration of UW policies and procedures in conjunction with program activities. As this program is funded with State and Federal funds, this position requires the ability to maintain awareness of and compliance with all contractual responsibilities and reporting requirements for the state and federal governments. Position requires a high degree of independent judgment and extensive decision making.
