| Job Summary: | This position will provide a wide variety of administrative assistance to the Center Director, faculty, staff, and students of the Wisconsin Transportation Center (WisTrans), National Center for Freight and Infrastructure Research and Education (CFIRE), Midwest Regional University Transportation Center (MRUTC), and the Wisconsin Traffic Operations and Safety Laboratory (TOPS Lab). In addition, this position will support some activities within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Staff include the respective programs' Directors, Principal Investigators, several affiliated faculty, Deputy Directors, a Research and Education Programs Coordinator, a Director for Continuing Education, research interns, project assistants, student hourly employees, and staff researcher positions. In addition to serving as a resource to these individuals, the incumbent will be a key point of contact with representatives from both public and private transportation industry - both within Wisconsin, as well as from other states. This position will report directly to the Director of the Wisconsin Transportation Center, while work will be performed under the supervision of the two Deputy Directors. Responsibilities require considerable initiative, judgment, reliability, organization, and some knowledge of transportation and the program activities. The working hours of this 100% position are flexible Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m only.
This position will devote 25% effort to the TOPS Lab and 75% to all other Wistrans activities.
