HIRING ORGANIZATION: The register established from this recruitment will be used to staff future full and part time vacancies that occur at Department of Family Medicine Clinics within the next six months.

SALARY: Starting wage is $17.263/hr., plus excellent benefits. Pay schedule/range is 06/14. A six-month probationary period is required. Full Time (40 hrs/week) and Part Time (less than 40 hrs/week) positions available.

JOB DUTIES: Provide direct patient care; assist in triaging through appropriate telephone assessment and referral; schedule patients, perform routine lab-related tests, and participate in resident education.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a practical nurse in the State of Wisconsin.

Knowledge of general patient care and current nursing procedures in an ambulatory primary care setting; patient behavior and symptoms for a wide range of injuries and illnesses managed in a family practice clinic; medications and their administration, interactions and side effects; equipment, procedures, rules and regulations pertinent to nursing care in an ambulatory setting; state and federal standards as they relate to medications, treatments, chart documentation and patient rights; and safety and infection control practices and principles; emergency techniques and procedures. Ability to make accurate patient observations and communicate them both verbally and in written form; provide guidance for patients and participate in their plan of care; and practice good written and verbal communication skills.
