LOCATION: Madison, WI
HIRING ORGANIZATION: UW-Madison, Division of Information Technology (DoIT), CIO Office and Policy & Planning, Office of Campus Information Security Group.
SALARY: Starting pay is between $53,793 and $98,434 per year depending upon qualifications, plus excellent benefits. This position is in pay schedule and pay range 07-02 and has a one year probationary period. This position is included in the Fiscal and Staff Services Bargaining Unit.

JOB DUTIES: This position provides leadership to evaluate security risks, offer direction, guidance and consultation, and make recommendations for the improvement in information security of IT systems for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This position reports directly to the Chief Information Security Officer. This individual serves as the campus technical expert and authority on information security risk analysis. The IT Risk Analyst works with the entire university community in a consultative manner to understand organizational missions, values and goals, analyze information risks which threaten those objectives, recommend and guide large cross-functional campus-wide teams towards a consensus on appropriate control solutions, and assist in implementing and auditing those control solutions to reduce operational and compliance based exposures.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Enterprise and/or professional services information security experience, with progressively increasing levels of capability and responsibility. Solid information security expertise as well as project management, business analysis, solution implementation skills and the ability to work under broad policy guidance.
Expert knowledge or certification in Information Security or IT Audit. Highly advanced skills in PC / Macintosh / Unix workstation, Internet software skills, groupware, office productivity software, project management software, and architecture tools (e.g. Visio, etc.).

2. Years and type of IT security experience. Include expert training and years of experience gained through practical on-the-job experience in IT Security or IT Security Audit. Please include certifications such as CISSP, and/or training in developing IT security requirement analysis standards, policies, best practices and/or procedures.
3. Project management experience. Include description of projects worked on, in particular cross-departmental projects you have managed, your role and number of years experience. Also include any formal training* or certifications you have received in project management. * Formal Training is that provided by an accredited educational institution or vendor or employer-sponsored training program.
